For all the country-lovin' gaming geeks, have you seen Country Dance for Wii? According to Taste of Country, Country Dance 2 for Wii is coming out by the holidays so try it out already! Scoot the couch out of the way, this looks like loads of fun!

• Turn it on for the kids
• Invite some friends over 'n have a little hoedown
• Pre-game for a night out at your place with a line dance party

The music is great too!

Country Dance for wii has you dancing to Sugarland's 'Stuck Like Glue', Trace Adkins' 'Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, Tim McGraw's 'Just to See You Smile' and Zac Brown Band's 'Chicken Fried'. 

Country Dance 2 for wii will have you dancing to Eric Church's 'Hell on the Heart', Carrie Underwood's ‘All American Girl’, Blake Shelton's 'Honey Bee' and George Strait's 'Here for a Good Time’.

Wii dancing games are so much fun, especially for grown ups! Have you played Just Dance Summer Party, DanceDanceRevolution Bundle, Just Dance 3, Just Dance 2, Just Dance, Dance on Broadway, or Just Dance Kids? Don't you agree?

Cowboy boots are trendy this spring! Here are the boot's I'd drool over, ponder and after consideration, justify splurging on ;)

Gotta have great cowgirl foot candy!! Especially since you'll be rockin' your boots for a long time.

Ideal line dancing boots have a leather sole for sliding, scootin' & shuffling... as cute as some fashion boots may be, they didn't make the list. There's nothing worst than trying to dance in rubber sole boots... well, maybe trying to dance in flip flops but that's another story.

Some snowy days, ya just gotta dance anyway

I am envious of the people headed out to Prospectors this evening for a little mid-week dance action! It is just a little too far for me to venture out in a blizzard. They are supposed to be teaching the line dances Cripple Creek, Cadillacs and Caviar (goes to the ZBB song "Where the Boat Leaves From", great song btw) & Shooter (couples dance).

XTU show tailgaiting checklist

XTU Show - June 13, 2009.

Yep, it's finally arrived, the unofficial kickoff to the summer concert season. In preparation, I am [*tear] skipping my line dance outing this evening. It will be worth it because I'll get some dancing in tomorrow at the show. Tonight, I will be hitting up the giant supermarket/everything-under-the-sun store to load up the truck.

My XTU SHOW TAILGATING CHECKLIST

• Booze, liquor stores aren't open at 7:30 AM [found that out the hard way]
• Tin foil, tongs, spatula
• Paper plates, napkins
• Toilet Paper, hand sanitizer
• Camping chairs
• ICE, Lotsa ice
• Grill, lighter fluid, charcoal
• Food, Veggie burgers (they don't make you sick if they're not cooked the whole way through)
• Crappy line dance boots (cement isn't ideal for your leather soles)
• Flip flops
• Sunscreen
• Blanket (for the lawn)
• cowboy hat (drinks + impulse cowboy hat purchase = no good)
• Jeans & sweatshirt (it gets cool when the sun goes down with sunburn & the suncreen you forgot to put on)
• Tickets!
• Ladderball, Washers, Magnetic dart board, any other game you "borrow" from your kids
• Cooler
• Bike lock (to lock up your chairs/cooler during the show)
• Charged camera
  
• Designated driver

I Got Some... Lucchese Dancing Boots

If you're anything like me, you love buying new shoes. 2 weekends ago, I headed out on a mission to buy a new pair of cowboy boots. I live at the Jersey Shore and cowboy stores are few and far between so I headed up to Boot America in Turnersville, NJ. I believe it is the same store that used to be called Boot Village back when it was in Depford (across from the mall) in the late 90's. I always had luck there with my gynormous 'Neander-toes' {apparently size 10 is big for ladies boots}. I have checked out Cowtown Cowboy Outfitters & Zane's Western Ware in the past without luck because of my big feet.

My mom & I made it up to the boot store and Russ, the owner showed us a picture of a pair of handmade customized black boots with a custom Phantoms logo inlaid in the boot. They were nice, but not quite what I had in mind. I went there looking for a brown pair with black details. There were tons of boots to choose from. I must have spent an hour and a half looking and trying them on and dancing around the store to make sure they felt good. I found a gorgeous pair that were brown and black but they didn't have my size in stock so I ordered them. In the mean time, I had driven an hour and a half up there so I wanted to leave with a pair! Well, I found a gorgeous pair of tan Charlie 1 Horse boots by Lucchese with blue butterflys on the top of the foot so they show with jeans too. They even have a cowboy riding a bucking horse on the sole! I had to spurge & just get them. I am so in love with them that I've been wearing my new boots around the house with my sweatpants lol! :)

Line Dancing Boots and they're really cute!

Boots to wear line dancing... no small decision! I spent an afternoon cruising around an online shoe store and these looked like some decent line dancing footwear - plus they are all so cute! I'm pretty sure they all have a leather sole which is clutch for sliding! There is nothing worse than a rubber sole when you are trying to spin! You want the nice slide of leather for smooth shuffles and spins. Here's a goofy little story about the evolution of my line dancing shoes.
